The Christmas tree is up! Yay! The holiday season is now upon me and after sitting in Starbucks over the weekend, I realized that I had been quietly brainwashed. When I came home and wanted to put on “Let it Snow” I saw how quietly the holiday spirit had come and invaded my consciousness. The signs were all there for me to see. The stores that had started the Christmas push the day after Halloween. Red, white and green candy-cane things adorning every corner and sound systems blaring Bing Crosby. Collective insanity at its most pernicious. Spend, spend, spend is the unsaid creed. Live, love and be merry (with our products!) is the cry. Ah, if only I had money to spend. Maybe then I could really lose my mind.
