Stings like a bee

I got my TA assignment last week. I am working with Mohammed Ali (yes, that’s his name) in the “History of Africa” class. I didn’t have to wait long to be put to work either. I have a nice stack of map assignments that I guess he’ll want back in a week or two. It’s nice to earn your keep I guess. But a bunch of map quizzes is far easier than an equivalent stack of essays… So I am counting this as a blessing.

I remember last year a student came to our office to look for Prof Ali, and I didn’t know him at the time. “uh, I’m looking for Mohammed Ali.” I was about to tell the kid to stop being an ass when someone else volunteered. “Oh he’s next door.” I was a bit shocked, even more so when I asked “he’s here?” It took me a while but I did get it.

I’m getting into the rhythm of working. I have a schedule and I’ve been sticking to it. I started reading some of my scripts and getting that work done. I’m trying to stay away from my beloved Lakers, who as you may recall, broke my heart June past. Truth be told though, they got further than anyone, myself included, ever dreamed last year, and this season looks to be very, very promising. Training camp is starting tomorrow and I’m thinking about getting cable for the upcoming season. Good times.
