When it’s over…
Well, I’m done with that final paper. Which means there is nothing left to do for school. Which means I’m done with all of my MA course work. Now I have a year to finish a thesis. Maybe the thesis is why I don’t feel completely free yet; one last thing in the back of my mind. Still it was a good feeling to get the damn thing sent and away. I wish it could be better, but considering the circumstances it didn’t turn out too badly. I’ll find out for sure when the final grade come my way. And, that is the only grade that I’m waiting for, cause the other ones came in and they weren’t so bad…
Saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull yesterday. This was partly a celebration for finishing the paper, partly an excuse to get out of the house, and partly because I’m an Indy fan. I liked. I can’t say that I loved it. (Sheema enjoyed this one more than she did Raiders of the Lost Ark. Surprising.) I don’t know, it was missing, something. Missing that bounce. They mashed up a lot of genres on this one, sci-fi, adventure, action. The story was pretty daring as well, very sure of itself for the most part and broke with the classic Indy structure. The usual Indiana formula is that the movie begins at the end of another semi-related Indiana adventure. This one was just one complete story.
Lucas is talking about continuing the franchise with Shia LaBeouf. That could work. We’ll see. The aftertaste of this one is pleasant though…
So much to try and get through this summer. Lots to do…
