I had a feeling
I almost had that feeling today. That free feeling. Like I could wander in and out of any where without the nagging voice in the back of my head reminding me that I have an assignment due. The feeling was there for about 10 minutes and then it was gone. Soon, I tell myself, soon, I will be free.
I’m in Ottawa now. Enjoying the lovely spring / summer weather. I am glad to report that the packing is done. Well, almost done anyway. Let’s call it 95%. I sold the bulky furniture, a.k.a. the desk and the futon, and put the majority of the other stuff in storage,(thanks Pete!) and now I’ve only got a table and some minor assorted junk left to move. It was sometime after Brian had left and I was walking home that I had that floating feeling.
The voice came back though and reminded me that I still don’t know if I have an extension on my final paper yet. This is not a good thing.
Today was one of those days when I’m glad to know people. So many happy coincidences this weekend, so many people who helped out. When I came here I had no idea how things would shake out. Now everything is pretty much done. Solving problems collectively is a creative process. Isolation and independence are fashionable and are quite useful qualities in their own right, but it’s a lot more fun the other way.
I’ll take that feeling, warm and fuzzy as it is, and run with it.
