The ides of March

I’m getting ready to work the midnight oil. You know one of those nights when you have an assignment due the next day and it’s only a quarter of the way through at 10 pm. Yeah, one of those.

March is usually a harsh month and a time when all manner of shit is about to hit the fan. It’s getting rough. Been marking what felt like a zillion and fifteen papers and compiling grades and responding to email. I love my students but I don’t want to see them any time soon.

I have a presentation and a paper due by the 17th and the 18th… so if I dodge this bullet I’m in good shape.

The work load was one of the reasons I was sort of incommunicado. And sometimes when time passes you don’t know exactly where to start. I have lots of stuff going on and things that have happened but don’t know where to put it now. Yes, I got out of the habit. Movement and discomfort tends to do that to you… Maybe more on that in later days, but I doubt it.

One little nugget that I think you will like. I got short-listed to 5th annual Cropper Foundation Creative Writers Residential Workshop. It’s a month long (July) writer’s retreat in Trinidad. Merle Hodge is one of the moderators! I find out by the 14th if I got in or not. I’ll keep you posted. Or not :P
