Acceptance!
U of T said no, but Carleton said yes. It’s not official until I tell them yes, but the offer they have on the table is pretty sweet. Waiting for another offer before I make up my mind, but believe me it is such a relief not to be worrying about what I’m going to be doing in September.
Now all there is to worry about is now. And the 5 essays and exam that I have to do before the 26th. Last month was pretty brutal and this month promises to be more of the same. Lots and lots of sitting down at this desk writing and reading. I find that staying in the apt is much better than jostling for space in the noisy Scott library. I have food in the fridge and it’s very quiet. No one to bother me but me. If only I could concentrate better… The same issue would be there if I went to Scott actually. The internet is such a draw.
Saw my Uncle yesterday, had some wonderful Indian food with him and lots of that tough fatherly talk.
Gotta love him.
Anyway… back to the reading and the writing…

Congratulations Ward! That’s awesome that you’ve gotten accepted. (U of T’s a really difficult school to get into).
As for studying, I like the quiet “SSH” room on 2nd floor of Scott … but I only know it’s quiet at night; and since I don’t have access to wireless anything, I’m able to get tons of work done. You just need to be willing to use pen and paper with your reading

You know how in the Muppet Show, there’d be acts on every episode? And then Kermit and Fozzie would fret everytime, ‘coz something ALWAYS goes wrong. And then come show time, Kermit would come out to the stage, with the curtains drawn, and then he would greet the audience, announce to them who’s on, and then he would do this crazy yell. And while he does the crazy yyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaayyyy yell, his arms go flying, and head is pointed upwards. Hehe, imagine Kermit now, after your Carleton announcement!
