It’s Christmas

Hello. It’s that time of year again. Time to start thinking about where you went wrong over the last 365. What a year it has been. A lot of good things and a lot of other things. I guess there will be some more counting up later…

Today was nice. A friend just told me that Christmas for adults must be the most anti-climactic time of the year. I guess so. If you were looking for magic I guess it could be. Did you find magic this Christmas? I hope you did.

Merry Christmas.

Instead of looking at where you went wrong, maybe consider just where you went right, and try to do that more often ;)

I like the turkey and mashed potatoes at Christmas, as well as brunch at my grandma’s house for Christmas morning. And the desserts! Christmas is about the desserts! But I didn’t find magic. Excitement at having an ice cream maker and a warm fuzzy robe, but I find that if I get gifts, they are more for function now than for playing with. but magic … I don’t think so.

    How was your Christmas?

Hey I’m a pessimist and a cynic, what can I say? :) Yes, there was a lot that went right for me in 2006, but the point of introspection for me isn’t really to pat myself on the back. Not that I ignore the good, but I find I learn more from the screw ups.

Magic kinda depends on your definition… I didn’t find magic per se either. But I have had a hell of a lot of fun. That counts for something. Magic -like really :) I also agree that the Christmas desserts are where most of the action is. :) But I still like the ham!

So you got an ice cream maker? Tested it out yet?

I did get an ice cream maker – I *want* to test it out, but I have that fear of removing it from the box and never getting it back in right again. So I’m going to hold off another week until I return to res before making anything with it.

See, when things go wrong for me, I attempt to deal with it then and there, or within a few weeks; I do my weeks of thought and then try to let go, otherwise I’ll just have too many negative thoughts that I can’t deal with :P

I also think I’d be having more fun in the Bahamas, but hey sitting at home doing nothing is also enjoyable (to a point…). Luckily, I’m going to be working tomorrow and Friday, so I’ll have something to do rather than walk my dogs. It’s too cold to go biking!
