In Toronto

I came back to Toronto on Thursday and I have been moving stuff into a new apartment. This one is a bit bigger and is on ground level. No more elevator for me. :) The evenings are cool and the Rogers Cup tennis tournament is a block away from me. I think I will see if anything is happening there tomorrow. As I passed by I could here that Roger Federer won the Men’s singles. It now really is Roger’s cup. (ha ha)

I went to a peace march yesterday. It was against the continued Israeli bombing of Lebanon, something that is bothering the heck out of me. It was organized by the Canadian Arab Federation, and there were quite a number of York students in the crowd. This is the first time I’ve ever demonstrated anything. It was quite the experience, carrying flags for people whose arms got tired. Chanting at the top of your voice. “one two three four. We don’t want another war… five six seven eight. Stop the violence stop the hate.” Quite exhilarating. Ran into a couple of Israeli sympathizers who had nothing more enlightening to say than “fucking Arabs”.

The photo evidence follows:

Ended the day with some sushi from Big Sushi with my Bahamian buddy Jamaal who has really helped me out with my stuff. Thanks a lot buhy, and good luck on your exams.

Grrrr I didn’t even know that you were back in town…. You can blame my pain-in-the-arse economics exam that I have today. Okay Okay so I could have helped you move if i had known… where is this new apartment anyways? A block away from the Rexall place sounds like near Jane st. Anyways we’re gonna link up after this exam and yes Ward, you really should put up your pictures. I want to see lots of embarassing drunken pictures ha ha

p.s: just got your postcard in my mail yesterday. Gotta love Post Canada :)

Hey Ward, welcome back to Toronto. I haven’t caught up with your blog for awhile and was surprised to see the changes! I like the front page very much.

What residence are you staying at that’s so nice?

Thanks Dee. I’m in Passy now and compared to Assiniboine this is a luxury suite. :) But compared to a real luxury suite its a nice apt. So an upgrade. Sorry for bein so tardy with the keeping in touch since I came back. I really should have given you a call by now. My bad. Will rectify soon. :)
