Samstag and Strawberries!
Saturday was the day of the big Game. Deutschland geggen Sweden. It started off slowly enough for us. In the morning we went to the Strawberry fields where you bring your own box / bucket / carrying thingee and you can get ultra-ripe strawberries at a slight discount. The weather in Stuttgart is absolutely fantastic, and the strawberries taste very good. Of course what you eat in the field, you don’t have to pay for. But then the pesticide that comes along with that is free too.
Here is the proof.

Theresa and the Strawberry patch!

Me eating the fertilizer and pesticide.
After a lovely lunch we decided to head down to the game. We were going to meet some of Theresa’s friends at the Wittwer bookstore and then get into the main area. Once we got on the train however there was an announcement telling us that Schlossplatz was closed because there was too many people.
We decided to go to the University of Hohenheim menza, which turned out better for us. Deutschland won 2:0 and everyone got free beer, and bbq’ed schweinefleish was quite yummy and much less than you would have paid at Schlossplatz. There were so many people at Schlossplatz apparelntly that Theresa’s friends couldn’t move 100 meters in two hours… Crazy. Imagine if Deutschland makes it to the final.
Of course that they won meant that horns were honking late into the night. But the firework display wasn’t too bad.

ooh pesticides in strawberries are my favourite. I think Sodexho makes sure that they dont wash off the pesticides when placing them in our cafeterias. Turns out it’s the pesticides that are the reason why we keep coming back for those awfully addictive strawberries.
Heyy you mentioned me in your blog! Wow I’m gonna check your blog everyday now. And yup those treadmills give you a doozy if you’re not on top of them. Hey it could be worse, you could be running on a treadmill AFTER Germany won a match and you were full on free beer. Imagine that!
I watched the Deutchland match against Sweden and wow the TV pictures are nothing compared to your still photographs. It must be some crazy atmosphere. GERMANY ALL THE WAY!!!
