Hello people,

how are you doing? I’m fine. As you may have noticed I haven’t been blogging much at all… Sometimes I wonder about the point of this, whether or not this is not more than high-tech ass scratching or not… I’m not entirely sure. I find that a blog and a journal are not the same thing. Or that they should not be the same thing. A journal is meant to be private, where you talk about what you really feel about the people in your life, whereas because a blog is public by nature, that same degree of honesty would quickly alienate any friends you might have had. The question is: Who lets everyone read their journal? Nobody sane that is.

So you approach the blog as something that you can share. Something I don’t mind that you read. I don’t even know who ‘you’ are. From my web stats, One person in China and 2 in France accessed the site (well they may not have necessarily been people, but I will assume that they are) and quite a lot from the Bahamas. Basically the question is what is blogging? Has this ever existed before? Is this some kind of new medium? A new form of writing, as distinct as poetry, short stories and the novel? Probably.

But what does that mean?
