Christmas is now a fading memory… Junkanoo is postponed and now I won’t even be able to rush with TrackRoad in the New Years parade, which won’t happen until January 7th. And now our New Year’s rush is even more of a thing because of some supposed beef between our leader Ian Strachan and the Junkanoo community. Where is the beef? It has to do with Junkanoo’s place in culture. Is it anything more than sport? or is it still an expression of the people? I wonder if it is even a national festival, when ever you have to charge $50 for an event, you really don’t expect the majority of the people to attend… Now I have to start thinking about going back to the coldness of Toronto! later.
