Other Influences
Hello people, I’m officially sick now. And just when Ian Strachan is getting married. I wonder if I should go. I want to go… “the spirit is willing but the flesh coughs.” I’ll either catch the reception or the church service. I would prefer the reception, but it does be so drafty…
Update: My tormentuous essays are still with me, and will be with me for the remainder of this weekend. We have sponsors! I will tell you more later, but right now, its classified! And the invitations… they must be done this week, so I’m going to be busy. Anybody out there got any cerase? I need ta berl some bitters! 
And finally, another of the artists that inspire me, the legendary Jasper Johns. He painted this mundane stuff like the American Flag and a number series… (see earlier blogs.) but if you look closely, you will see that there is so much more going on in here than ‘just’ a flag. The flag is almost an excuse, a reason to paint, to forget about the ‘content’ and worry about the process; the work of painting. At least thats how I see it.
