Voice and Audience

Getting my first comment (one that I didn’t write) has been an interesting experience. Naturally it came as a surprise: I thought I was hallucinating or something. But now I think that it sort of frames the entire blog thing in a new light. (See previous rant)
Maybe this is a dialogue between me and “you”. “You,” in this case being the audience, those who log in (is this term relevant anymore?) to the website and read this journal. Now I know that I may be getting ahead of myself to call one post an audience, but bear with me here.
Since the possibility exists that since I might develop an audience does this then mean that I need to worry about ratings? I mean is this the end product of having an audience; the desire to maintain it and make it grow. What I mean is this: as I get to know what things inspire comments or reaction from my hypothetical audience, then I write about those things, and those things that get nerry a reply, I’ll tend to stay away from. Is that how it goes? As my grandfather would say… “give ‘em what they want!”
So basically then if the preceeding makes any sense, THIS, this blog is more about “you” than it is me? Potentially, I guess. But just like any experiment: We’ll see.

I must report that I am speaking at a “forum” on “Race, Ethnicity and Identity” at the College of the Bahamas on the 21st of January 2004, which means next week. (Go on and click on the little image!!)Would you be shocked if I told you that I haven’t finished. Would you be appaled if I told you that I haven’t started? I imagine that they wish for me to rehash some of my previous content. (the reason for the writings tab that doesn’t yet work) At least I hope so. Well now that I have confessed, I’ll go back and paint and then later on tonight (hopefully) I’ll figure out exactly what it is that I want to talk about.
Staytuned.

    you always had an audience.

As the saying goes: “the world is a stage”

And, by the by, I, for one lone post, am anxious
to read about your thoughts on race, ethnicity
and identity. (uh-oh, to add to your queries, does your audience have expectations? YESSSSSS!)

and on that other thing: shaved or unshaved? With BBM (basic black men) i wouldn’t need to ask, but with artists and BBME (basic black men expansive) one can never be too sure….

we’ll chat about kill bill…I aim to please as well.. :)

    B.Snowbunny-signing off!

your presentation was interesting and you have a very put together website. however, you did leave out parts of the black and white color versus the black and white attitude. what about the meeting of the black character and the white character. is it possible to create a balance instead of extremities?

(Question- WHERE ARE THE NAKED GUYS)
